![]() At Mother of Pearls Public Relations, we get one question more than almost any other: Where did the name come from? Since today is Mother’s Day it feels like the perfect time to share the story behind our name, our mission, and what makes our approach to public relations unique. The name Mother of Pearls was born out of love—for my family and for the work we do. Both of my kids were born in June, a month whose birthstone is the pearl. When I was dreaming up the vision for this company, I kept returning to that small but powerful symbol—something rare, beautiful, and enduring. Pearls aren’t just lovely to look at. They form through persistence and protection, layer by layer, until something extraordinary is created. That metaphor struck a chord with me, not just as a mother, but as a storyteller and communicator. Just like its namesake, Mother of Pearl is known for its beauty, strength, and flexibility. It’s highly prized by artisans—but its real purpose is even more meaningful. Its job is to protect and nurture the growth of something even more precious than itself. That’s exactly what we aim to do with every client we serve. At Mother of Pearls, we believe that every communications plan should be as rare, flawless, and valuable as the most perfect pearl. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter campaigns or off-the-shelf messaging. Instead, we craft thoughtful, strategic, and bespoke public relations plans that protect and grow what matters most—your brand, your reputation, and your story. We’re proud to be storytellers by trade, but our foundation is family. We’ve built Mother of Pearls to reflect who we are: family-first, mission-driven, and fiercely committed to helping others shine. This Mother’s Day, I’m grateful for the family that inspired our name, for the clients who trust us with their stories, and for the opportunity to continue helping businesses grow, shine, and thrive.
